Loop Trails Dreibündenstein
The scenic, leisurely hike between Brambrüesch and Feldis, via the Dreibündenstein, leads through a rich variety of alpine flora and offers impressive panoramic views of the surrounding mountain landscape. The round-trip ticket includes all mountain railway rides as well as the return journey by bus or train.
Route
This impressive panoramic hike begins around 1,000 metres above the city of Chur. The starting point on the Brambrüesch high plateau is easily reached by cable car directly from the city centre. From here, the route climbs around 600 metres in elevation up to the Dreibündenstein.
At the historic boundary marker of the former Three Rätische Bünde, a sweeping 360° panorama opens up – from the local mountains around Chur, Arosa, and Lenzerheide to the Glarus Alps. Particularly striking is the view of the tectonic overthrust of the Tectonic Arena Sardona (UNESCO World Heritage Site), clearly visible from the Ringelspitz to the Flims mountains with Segnes and the Tschingelhörner. At the highest point of the tour, near Furggabüel, a panoramic information board helps identify surrounding peaks and explains the geology of the region.
The descent to Feldis leads through a diverse alpine landscape, passing forests, alpine settlements, and the idyllic mountain lake Leg Palus. From Feldis, the gondola takes hikers down to Rhäzüns, offering impressive views over the Rhäzüns Rhine floodplains. The return journey to Chur is then by Rhaetian Railway or city bus.
